Join the SV Trailblazers for a 25km Memorial Hike to mark our Formation Day on Feb 15. After a minute silence at Kranji War Memorial, hikers will walk to important Corps locations across Singapore, ending at the Cenotaph. Hikers are expected to wear army boots and carry a load of no less than 12kg.

FAQs

Load. Participants must carry minimum 12kg for the hike itself.
Pack. You may carry any suitable rucksack (either military or civilian) that can carry the required load.
Field Pack. Any hikers using SAF-issued field packs must camouflage them with rain covers.

Footwear. Participating hikers must wear SAF-issued boots.
Long pants. Long pants must be worn for this hike. No shorts allowed.
Top. Hikers are allowed to wear any top for the hike itself.
Steadfast and Vigilant T-Shirt. All hikers must bring this t-shirt along for formal observances and photos.
No military attire. Beyond SAF-issued boots, no military attire should be worn.

Training Programme. You will need to train for this hike to prepare for the distance and load. Training for the Memorial Hike is in your own time, but we recommend you to join the regular Trailblazer hikes between now and February.
Qualification Hikes. There will be Qualification Hikes to complete to secure a spot for Memorial Hike 2025, to ensure you are suitable and well trained for it.

You will have to complete 2 qualification hikes prior to the actual Memorial Hike 2025. You may complete these in your own time as well.
Qualification Hike 1
To be completed by 31 December, 2024
Target: 15km/10kg/ at least 14:00/km pace / army boots
Exemption: successful completion of the Norwegian Foot March Challenge 2024.
Qualification Hike 2
To be completed between 1 January and 8 February, 2025
Target: 20km/12kg/ at least 14:00/km pace / army boots

We will be operating a mobile aid station with 2 support volunteers. This will include hydration, refreshments, first aid and other facilities to support a safe hike.
The mobile aid station will be available at each rest stops.
Call for aid can be initiated by any hiker.

In any operation, the support team is a vital component of the mission’s success and we’d like to invite you to be part of this mission.
